who are we?: |
The New Zealand Kitefliers Association (Inc.) was founded in 1984. It is an incorporated society which aims to encourage, promote and develop kite making and flying in New Zealand.
Our members, mostly adults, come from all walks of life. We have approximately 70 members, comprising subscribers and interested members of their own families. This includes a number of overseas members from amongst the international community of kiteflyers. Our purpose is to have fun and enjoy the hobby of kites, at the same time educating other people about the art, history, technology and practice of building and the safety of flying kites.
Frequent regional flying days are held, as well as an annual national get-together of at least three day's duration. We also publish a magazine every four months called "What's Up" to help maintain communication among our members. For further information contact the Local Rep in your area. You can find a link to the contact page in our main menu.
